You land in Puerto Maldonado transfer to the Inkaterra Lounge to check in; then, it’s off to the docks. After lunch trail inside the the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica to appreciate the rainforest. Later that night, you will take a guided canoe ride on the Madre de Dios River, looking for nocturnal birds and other animals. (L,D)

In the morning, you will take a trip into the Tambopata National Reserve to Lake Sandoval, home to many endangered species like the giant otter or redbellied macaw. In the afternoon, trek the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway and Anaconda Walk. The first tower is 90 feet high. Once at the top, embark on an amazing encounter with the species that live in the forest canopy, literally walking through the rainforest on a network of bridges that connect eight observation platforms. Upon your return to the lodge, enjoy a nature presentation at the Ecocenter. (B,L,D)

Depart on a motorized canoe to Gamitana Creek. Explore the jungle observing the lush vegetation and exotic wildlife. At Sanipanga you find piranhas, caimans, turtles, and birds. After lunch head off to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, home to a remarkable botanical garden with over 200 different species of plants. Our tour tonight will introduce you to the nighttime sounds of the forest. (B,L,D)

After breakfast ride back to Puerto Maldonado. Visit the Inkaterra butterfly garden. Peru is the country with the most species of butterflies: 3700 varieties, many of which can be spotted at the garden. Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima. (B)
