Welcome to Lima! Upon arrival at the airport in Lima you will be transferred to your hotel. Museums, archaeological sites, lush greenery and beautiful beaches, a bustling boardwalk and lively nightlife -- come discover the modern metropolis of Lima! A current day Latin American culinary hub, take time to tantalize your taste-buds at one of the many “cevicherías” or popular street food stands.

Today you will enjoy a tour of Lima. See the Plaza de Armas with its colonial government buildings including the Palace, the town hall, and the cathedral. After that you will visit the beautiful San Francisco Monastery with its collection of religious art and catacombs. Visit the districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, then head to Rafael Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum to see the world’s largest private collection of Peruvian pre-Columbian Art. (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in the Urubamba Valley, or “Sacred Valley,” where the Urubamba River, a headstream of the Amazon, passes. Along the way, visit to the Cochahuasi Sanctuary to see exotic animals as pumas, condors and aras. (B)

After breakfast, visit the “Mercado de Urubamba,” an authentic market where rural locals sell and barter agricultural products as well as animals. Next, tour the typical Inca community of Ollantaytambo. Stone terraces rise from the edge of town leading up to its fortress’ ruins at the top of the hill. A stone stairway leads up through the terrace walls, allowing you to step out onto them. One of the area’s best-preserved spots sits north of the Hanan Huacaypata Square featuring an area of 15 blocks of houses built on top of carved stone walls. Lunch included in a typical restaurant on the way to Ollantaytambo. (B,L)

This morning you will be transferred to Ollantaytambo train station. Our adventure starts on a train ride to the city of Aguas Calientes, and then it’s on to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu archaeological site. You will never forget this mind-blowing journey through the history of the Inca civilization. Explore Peru’s most important archaeological site and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes. (B)

With your morning at leisure, take this wonderful opportunity to visit the mystic site of Machu Picchu once again on your own (optional). Take the shuttle bus to the fascinating ruins and enter the site a second time. After your visit, take the shuttle bus back down to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, take the train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. (B)

This morning, begin with a half day city tour of Cusco. Explore the center of the Inca Empire, the Plaza de Armas and see the cathedral built on the ruins of the ancient Inca Palace. Next, stop at the old town with its magnificent renovated colonial buildings. Proceed to Sacsayhuaman, a ruins site located approximately 3 km above Cusco that boasts fabulous views over the city. Afterwards visit the surrounding ruins. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. (B)

Transfer from the hotel to the airport of Cusco for your flight to Lima (not included) and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the balance of your day in Lima. Modern-day adulation for this cosmopolitan city reveals that it is brimming with splendid restaurants, bars and lively nightlife – Lima offers unending pleasures to enjoy. (B)

Rise and shine with breakfast and a morning transfer from your Lima hotel to the airport for your flight to Quito. Upon arrival in Quito you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. (B)

Today you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city of Quito through the historical center of the city and see the church of La Compañia and Independence Square with the Government Palace. Then, visit the famous hill of the old town, Panecillo (little bread) where you will see the angel statue “Virgen de Quito” before heading to the Equatorial Line Monument called “Middle of the World” and stand in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres simultaneously. (B)

Enjoy time to explore Quito at your own pace with a day at leisure. Alternately, you can embark on an optional tour to the world-renowned Indian handmade crafts market, Otavalo, where you will find a vast variety of locally weaved designs in belts, tapestries, ponchos and other clothing items. Another adventurous option is to venture on an option tour to Mindo cloud forest. The choices are vast! (B)

After breakfast transfer to the airpor t for the departure flight back home or opt to extend your trip in the beautiful Galapagos Islands. (B)
